Sunday, April 29th, 2007Saturday’s game was huge. A three game winning streak. A series win against the Cards in St Louis. Zambrano pitches a good game. Theriot gets a start at short. The Cubs needed that in a big way. Now they just need to ride that momentum into this week.
Misc Notes
Saturday, April 28th, 2007I’m a few days late on this, but if you had April 25th in your office pool as the day Mark Prior would be officially done for the season, congratulations. You win.

I have to admit I’ve been pleasantly surprised with the performance of the Cubs starting staff this year. The fact that Zambrano […]
Lacking
Friday, April 20th, 2007I don’t have any specific facts to back this up, but one thing that the Cubs always seem to lack that pennant winning teams have is a some first or second year player that no one outside of their fandom has heard of that has a breakout year. The Cubs never seem to have a […]
Frustration
Sunday, April 15th, 2007I made it to my first game of the season this afternoon. I wish I had something good to report, but alas, there wasn’t much good that came from today’s game. Actually, I take that back. There were two good things I saw. First of all, Ted Lilly held the Reds […]
Slackin Already
Wednesday, April 11th, 2007This blog is only a few months old and already I’m going weeks in between posts. But don’t worry, my dear and faithful reader (I’m pretty sure I don’t have readers yet), I haven’t abandoned this blog. I still fully intend to post at least two or three times a week. […]
SSDY
Monday, April 2nd, 2007S.S.D.Y. Same shit, Different Year.
Hey look, only one day into the season, and the Cubs are already in last place!
In all fairness, I didn’t get to watch the game today, I just saw the boxscore so maybe they actually played well and it was just one of those days, but I […]
2007 Cubs/Sox Bets
Thursday, March 29th, 2007Many of friends are Sox fans. This leads to the inevitable bickering back and forth about whose team is better and yadda yadda yadda. We usually end up making a wager or two, or three on the team’s performance. These last few years have been costly in that regard.
The hosts of the local […]
HR Derby
Monday, March 26th, 2007I got this entry form a for a Home Run Derby fantasy contest from a coworker. There is a list of home run hitters broken into six groups based on last year’s totals. You pick 1-3 players from each group, to form your team and add up their home run totals at […]
Wood and Prior: Not Injured?
Monday, March 5th, 2007This just in.
Kerry Wood and Mark Prior both pitched today, and while it is still to early to tell, so far neither one has been reported as injured. One of them pitching and not getting hurt is a rarity in itself, but both of them? On the same day? That’s […]
Zambrano Contract
Saturday, March 3rd, 2007Have the Cubs signed Zambrano to a long term deal yet? I know they agreed to a contract for this year, but haven’t heard anything about upcoming years.
Personally I don’t see how the Cubs can give him anything less than what he is asking for. We’ve all been reliant on Wood and […]
