    Mike’s NFL Picks 2007 Week 2

    By Mike | September 13, 2007

I did pretty well last week.  Lets hope that trend continues.    Just as a reminder the listed odds are from Bodog.com as of Thursday evening.   Also as a reminder, this is all hypothetical, I’m not actually making any bets and I wouldn’t recommend you taking my advice too seriously.

    Sunday Early Games:

Buffalo Bills +10 at Pittsburgh Steelers  - I don’t think the Bills are very good, but 10 points is a lot.  I don’t think the Steelers are going to score nearly as many points as they did last week against the Browns.

Cincinnati Bengals -7 at Cleveland Browns  - Speaking of the Browns, I think I’d be willing to lay double digit points against them with just about any team.  With the Bengals I’ll lay 7 on the road no problem.

Indianapolis Colts -7.5 at Tennessee Titans.  -  First three games and the spread is a touchdown or more, and I’m taking the road team in all three.  I’m the least confident in this pick of any, mostly because I think Indi has a habit of doing just enough to win, which could mean a 3-6 point win rather than a route.

Houston Texans +7 at Carolina Panthers  - Hey look another game with a seven point spread.  The panthers were sporadic last year, and the Texans are apparently better than I think, but I still have to go with the Panthers.  If I was actually betting I would stay away from this game.

San Fransisco 49ers +3 at St. Louis Rams - The Rams are another team that I never know what to expect.  I do expect them to  beat the niners at home by more than three.

Green Bay Packers +1 at New York Giants  - The Packers stole one last week, and even though the Giants offense took a couple big hits on the injury front I don’t see them losing to the Packers.   Did I mention I hate Green Bay?

Atlanta Falcons +10.5 at Jacksonville Jaguars - Another crazy spread, and I hate to give up this many points, but Jacksonville has to be mad after last week, and Atlanta should probably just forfeit the rest of their games this year to save everyone the trouble of having to watch them.

New Orleans Saints -4 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers - The Saints will rebound from last week shlacking this week in Tampa Bay.

    Sunday Late  Games:

Minnesota Vikings +3.5  at Detroit Lions - Big deal.  The Lions already have a win this year.  It was against the Raiders so I don’t think it should count.  I pick the Vikings to win straight up in Detroit this week, but I’ll take the points if you’re going to give them.

Dallas Cowboys -4 at Miami Dolphins  - I hate both these teams.  Here’s hoping for a tie.   Dallas is going to run away with it though.

Seattle Seahawks -3 at Arizona Cardinals - I have a feeling I’ve picked too many road teams this week, but when the home teams are this bad what choice to I have?

New York Jets +10 at Baltimore Ravens - I wavered on this one.  I’m not sure Baltimore will score enough to cover the 10 points, but their defense  might be good enough score a TD or two and cover the spread on its own.

Oakland Raiders +10 at Denver Broncos - Gotta go with Denver in Denver against a team that lost by that much at home against the Lions of all teams.

Kansas City Chiefs +13 at Chicago Bears - Wow.  13 points?  I think they Bears will cover it. They are going to want to show that Grossman is good so they are going to score early and often.  And if Houston can hold the Chiefs to three, I expect a shutout out of the Bears D.

San Diego Chargers +4 at New England Patriots -  New England wins by three. Possibly with a final second field goal.  Good enough for the W, but not good enough to cover.

    Monday Night:

Washington Redskins +7 at Philadelphia Eagles - I have a feeling the Eagles are going to be angry this week, and they are going to take it out on the Skins.   What do you think are the odds of them muffing a punt this week?
