    Productivity Loss

    By Mike | July 26, 2007

The Cubs recent performance is absolutely killing my productivity.  I don’t anything done at night anymore because I’m always trying to catch the Cubs game.  Usually by this time of year I’m either so disgusted with the team that I don’t even watch at all, or they’re playing so poorly that I can only tolerate a few innings before stopping so I that I don’t let them put me in a foul mood for the rest of the day.

Things were looking to be the same this year, until they started their amazing run.  Now, like I said, I watch almost every game, and almost every game in its entirety.  When they are up, unlike in years past, I’m confident that they will hold their lead, and when they are down, I’m reasonably sure they will come back to win.  How ridiculous is that?  A Cubs fan confident that a Cubs team can come from behind and win.  This close to August?  Its unheard of.

I should be looking forward to Bears training camps which are starting this week, not gearing up for the playoff chase.   I guess I shouldn’t complain, I’m just so not used to following baseball this time of year.  Even my fantasy team is winning.  Maybe the end of the world is actually here.

Anyways gotta go.  Cubs game just started.
