HR Derby

I got this entry form a for a Home Run Derby fantasy contest from a coworker. There is a list of home run hitters broken into six groups based on last year’s totals. You pick 1-3 players from each group, to form your team and add up their home run totals at the end of the year. Prizes are awarded for the teams with the most home runs. It’s only $11 bucks to enter, and last year the top prize was over 9K.
I was going to do a bunch of research and analysis on the players to try to find guys that you might expect to have much better results this year compared to last year, but there are over 60 players there and about five players in my attention span was already waning so I’m going with the whole I have a hunch approach. Actually I’m going to fill out two entries. One where I try to be objective and pick players I think will perform, and one where I pick players I like (AKA Cubs player) and exclude people like Bonds because he’s an asshat.
I also glanced quickly at player’s career numbers to see if last year was an abnormally high or low year for them.
Here are my teams, and below that is the list of choices, and I guess I was wrong about that whole two different lists thing because they are more or less the same give or take two or three players. Oh well. I guess it covers me if/when Bonds gets injured.
